Sandy has 20+ years of executive search experience and completed Columbia University’s External Coaching Intensive.
She formed Pinetum Partners LLC in 2004 as a retained executive search firm specializing in senior level global search for hedge funds, investment banks and securities firms. She also provides coaching, where her expertise is working with executives in transition. Clients include the newly hired, promoted, or high potential executives looking to advance to the next level and Millennials searching for fulfilling career paths.
Prior to establishing Pinetum Partners, Sandy led Human Resources and Recruiting at Amaranth Group – a multi-billion dollar, multi-strategy hedge fund, based in Greenwich, Conn., with offices in London and Singapore.

Sandy began her recruiting career in 1997 with Spencer Stuart, a leading global executive search firm. As a Director in their Global Financial Services Practice, she focused on asset management, banking and e-finance. Additionally, she specialized in senior level search assignments for financial, business development and corporate development positions across other industries.
Following Spencer Stuart, she joined Amaranth as its first executive recruiter where she also became the Head of Human Resources. While developing her internal team there, Sandy recruited over 100 people to Amaranth in less than a year – increasing total staff to 260. She recruited for all senior posts, including highly sensitive hiring efforts for team lift outs, technology, operations and college recruiting. She continued to serve Amaranth as a client after founding Pinetum.
Prior to Spencer Stuart, Sandy was a Vice President and Senior Client Manager for Bankers Trust Company’s mutual fund clients. Earlier, she was the Director of Sales and Marketing for the FINS Group, an operations consulting firm dedicated to financial institutions and now part of IBM. Sandy began her career at Manufacturers Hanover, spending seven years in New York and Los Angeles holding various management positions in money market operations and electronic banking.
Sandy holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and BA from William Smith College, where she was Chairperson of Hai Timiai, the senior honor society, and is the recipient of the Young Alumna Award. Sandy is a guest speaker and mentor for Year Up, a not for profit organization that empowers low-income young adults to go from poverty to professional careers in a single year.
